Nation Under God?

It's interesting to me that we are missing the biggest point from our Founders. That all of our rights are given to us from God. Our hedge of protection for our freedom as individuals spelled out in our founding documents are really in my assessment a compass for us to follow as a nation under God. With such simplicity our founders gave us all we need in as imperfect as each of us a document. Paraphrasing a quote from Mr. Franklin " I have given you a Republic if you can keep it" In essence "Free Will" and can a free people Govern themselves? I believe ALL of our troubles stem from the arrogance of man thinking he or she can build hedges of protection bigger and stronger than the last attack that breached our walls of man made protections. Rather than turning to whom our Founders did, our Creator or in the words of many of them God.........

“We have been assured, sir, in the sacred writings, that ‘except the Lord build the house they labor in vain that build it.’ I firmly believe this; and I also believe that without His concurring aid we shall succeed in this political building no better than the builders of Babel; we shall be divided by our little partial, local interests, our projects will be confounded and we ourselves shall become a reproach and a byword down to future ages. And, what is worse, mankind may hereafter, from this unfortunate instance, despair of establishing government by human wisdom and leave it to chance, war, or conquest.” (Benjamin Franklin)
